History of AOP
Before Arkansas Oregon Pneumatics (AOP) started in 1970, the founders, Harold Owery and Jim Livesey started as associates in different areas of the industry. Jim was the owner of PSI Engineering and PSI Conveying Groups Inc. and involved in the engineering of the pneumatic and conveying systems. Harold was involved in the fabrication and installation of the systems.
During the 1960s, Georgia Pacific Corporation began acquiring saw mills/lumber mills along with their timber land in the southern states. These mills were converted into Plywood Plants, and new ones were built, in AR, LA, MS, TX, and GA. PSI Engineering and Mr. Owery were asked to remain to continue engineering, fabrication and installation.
As this venture grew Harold and Jim partnered up and named the company ARKANSAS OREGON PNEUMATICS INC. (1970).
Today we are AOP Metal Fabricators, LLC and concentrate in Structural Steel Fabrication, Handrails, Plate Fabrication, and Steel Coatings.
Over the years we have seen this industry change and have been committed to change with it.
AOP has transformed over the years moving away fro Pneumatic Pipe Fabrication and into Structural Steel Fabrication. We’ve now introduced residential fabrication and services through Legacy Metal Worx in Monroe, LA.
